Pretty in Pink
A Five Year Old’s Tea Parlor
WHAT AN HONOR. I was asked to help throw a little cutie a FIFTH birthday party that was really her first ever big/friend party! Invitations asked friends and their mamas to come to her tea parlor and I thought that was the cutest thing ever. That was until I set the table and nearly died. From meeting the birthday girl a month ago, I learned quite quickly that she wanted pink, she even specifically asked for “all pink” haha. I knew at that moment that this was going to be the cutest-pinkest table ever, and oh boy was it! And of course we couldn’t leave out the mamas so I set up a buffet style tea option for them . That way they could grab bites and tea when the moment presented itself, because with 11 kiddos ages 3-6 you never know what’s going to happen!
For the little ones table, I like to use mostly milk glass and some depression glass because they are a bit more sturdy and have tiny handles perfect for tiny hands. Watching the girls sip tea overjoyed me and I even got to share in some of their first ever tastes of tea. How special. The girls also had activities to make pearl necklaces, color paper teapots, eat cake, and of course run around outside to burn off all the sugar. It was such a fun afternoon, exhausting, but oh so worth it. Pinkies up!
